Flexible payments with Klarna

Tattoodo has partnered with the payment service, Klarna, allowing you to offer flexible payment options to your clients for both full payments and deposits. This guide will help you understand the benefits Klarna provides to your clients and how you can integrate these options into your checkout process.

What can I offer my clients?

  • Pay in 3: Clients can split the cost of their tattoo or deposit into three equal, interest-free payments. Typically, the total amount is divided equally across all three instalments. However, Klarna may adjust the amount of the first instalment based on the client’s purchase power and other credit factors. The maximum amount available for Klarna's Pay in 3 is £2,000.
  • Pay Later: Clients can choose to pay the full amount for their tattoo or deposit within 30 days, giving them more flexibility. The maximum amount available for Klarna’s Pay Later option is £1,500.

How do I get started?

You don't need to change anything about how you request deposits or process full sales. At checkout, your clients will have the option to pay with Klarna, choosing either "Pay in 3" or "Pay Later."

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why doesn't Klarna show up as an option for my client?

There are a few potential reasons why Klarna might not appear as a payment option:

  • Ensure that the requested amount is within the limit for Pay in 3 (£2,000) or Pay Later (£1,500).
  • The Klarna option may not be available if your client is not located in Great Britain or is currently outside of Great Britain.

Can a client always use Pay in 3 or Pay Later?

Not always. Klarna may decline a payment based on the client’s purchase power and other credit factors. If a client plans to use Klarna to cover the full price of a tattoo, we recommend they pay upfront to ensure they qualify for Klarna's Pay in 3 or Pay Later options.

How do I request the full price of a tattoo?

To request the full price of a tattoo, use the Sale feature. This allows you to charge the entire amount upfront. For a step-by-step guide on how to use the Sale feature, please refer to this video

When will I receive the funds if my client chooses Pay in 3 or Pay Later?

Regardless of the payment option chosen by your client, the full amount will be immediately transferred to your Stripe account.

Will I incur a higher commission or transaction fee if my client pays with Klarna?

No, there is no additional cost to you. Tattoodo covers the higher fees associated with Klarna transactions.
